General Purpose:                   To assist the Food Services Program Coordinator and prepare meals following National School Lunch Program. This program is in operation 7 day a week year round.
 
Supervision Received:            Meet weekly with Food Services Program Coordinator to monitor prior week?s agenda items and discuss items or concerns for current week. Also, training provided on National School Lunch Program (NSLP).
 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for washing and sanitizing all dishes and pots and pans used in Food Services and putting them away. Responsible for keeping the prep area, dining room, and storage areas clean and organized. Responsible for preparing meals, without supervision, for up to 18 clients and occasional staff daily. This position is also responsible for following the NSLP Guidelines. Must interact amiably and cooperatively with coworkers and clients. 
 
 
PERIPHERAL DUTIES
Responsible for keeping cupboards neat and orderly, as well as any other projects requested by the Food Services Program Coordinator.
 
 
DESIRED MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum one year Food Service experience; experience in institutional food preparation. Must have current food handler?s card and current CPR and First Aid Certification.  Food Safety and Sanitation Video required. Valid driver?s license required.  Must be available to work flexible schedules (afternoons, evenings, weekends).
 
 
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Stove, oven, slicer, microwave, dishwasher, mixer, grill, and steam table.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Prolonged standing or walking, up to three (3) hours at a time, bending or lifting regularly, wet hands constantly, and exposure to cleaning agents regularly. The employee must lift and/or move up to forty (40) pounds. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects or controls.  The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear. The employee will unload and put freight away.
